The following section details our school’s curriculum design and content. When Lawn Manor Academy came into existence in 2017 we began a three year curriculum review in order to broaden the options available to our pupils at both KS3 and KS4. We will achieve this by increasing the availability of key subjects in both key stages in addition to widening access to computing/IT, creative and expressive arts and MFL.
By 2020 2021 Lawn Manor Academy will have a three year KS3 and pupils in KS4 will be sitting GCSEs with four option choices under their belt. It is our belief that a strong academic curriculum should be balanced with broad exposure to the arts, technology and sports and this is what has driven our decision making in this area.

Key stage 3
Students time will be split across the following lessons on a two-week timetable during key stage 3.
Art, Music, Dance and Drama,
Computing and DT
Key stage 4
All students will take GCSE courses in English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and Science. They will have the opportunity to take at least four further subjects and they are expected to include:
Design and Technology,
Leisure & Tourism,
Religion, Philosophy & Ethics,
Whilst students will get a choice of options, all students will be expected to do either a language or a humanities subject with some students being asked to choose both.
