Graphics

Our Graphics Communications pupils follow the OCR GCSE course. This broad base course offers pupils the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding using practical skills, whilst developing an understanding of the wider world looking at areas of visual communication and graphic design.

Our curriculum demonstrates their ability through poster design, photography, branding and communication graphics. Graphics pupils also investigate designers through drawing, painting, and photography from ancient times to present day.

They learn how to use colour, typography, photography and imagery to communicate messages in creative ways while working alongside a brief. These projects include a poster design for a charity, album cover design and branding packaging project for a music festival. In term 6 they start, their first own project for their portfolio linking to a theme of their choice and then finish with the external task.
