The following section details our school’s curriculum design and content. We understand that education is about the whole child and we are also aware of the importance of knowledge. We have developed a truly broad curricular offer. It incorporates a broad range of subjects in our Independence Curriculum. We enable pupils to gain excellent community understanding in and out of school through our Attitude Curriculum and we focus on the development of every child’s character through our Resilience curriculum.

Pupils time will be split across the following lessons on a two-week timetable during key stage 3.

Spanish
Geography

RPE
PE
Art Music, Dance and Drama,
Computing and DT
Key Stage 4
All pupils will take GCSE courses in:
English Language
English Literature
Mathematics
Triple Science or Combined Science.
Pupils will have the opportunity to take at least four further subjects which can be chosen from:

Design and Technology
Geography
History
Hospitality and Catering
Leisure & Tourism

Sports’ Studies

Religion, Philosophy & Ethics

Whilst pupils will get a choice of options, all pupils will be expected to do either a language or a humanities subject with some students being asked to choose both.
